We're doing bountiful baskets.
if you dont know what this is, it is a co-op where you pay $15 and get a basket full of fresh produce. 50% fruit 50% veggies.
You make your "contribution" ($$$) on Monday after 12pm but before Tuesday at 10pm.
On Saturday morning you show up at a location at 7am and pick up your produce.
They try to get the best produce they can for that time of the year.
Some times its organic some times its a mix of both.
I started doing the math on our basket this week compared to our local grocery store;
The mini watermelon goes for $4
Pineapple is about $4
Bananas (for how many they gave us) $3.50
Fuji apples $1.99 lb, and we got about 3 or 4 lbs...
need i continue?
with just those items we already got our moneys worth.
And that's not including the cabbage, green onions, lettuce, cucumbers, and peppers,

We also got 5 loaves of 9 grain organic bread for $12.
(dont worry, we dont eat 5 loaves of bread in a week. most of it will go in the freezer.
but the bread is pretty dang good.)

Basically, if you have the opportunity to participate in bountiful basket, i would highly suggest it.
They do it all around the U.S.
